The first one

Yet another blog! Ugh, they seem to be all over the internet. This is different (everybody says that) in the sense that this is the almighty St. Xavier's Computer Council blog. Being the president for a year and working on this council for a year, I seem like an authority to write this post or so the juniors think.

So, what is Computer council anyways? You got it!! Even Ralphie(a simpsons' character.. case you don't know) will figure out that it has to be something related to computers. So, what does this council do anyways? Contrary to popular perception, computer council people are not a bunch of geeks discussing, often in an arcane language, all things tech, we are different. In fact, I'd not call anybody in the council a geek at all. It's a group of computer enthusiasts trying to understand the nuts and bolts of the system and have fun doing so.
Since St. Xavier's doesn't have computers in ISc curriculum( I so hate TU for that, I'd have got such a cool score had we had computers) but still we are taught C and HTML( I still doubt how many people are interested in the lectures) totally important stuffs to survive in modern tech world (seriously, do I look like kidding?) Partly out of lack of maturity or information, most students are unaware of the importance of computers and still they think they can cut it as a programmer or so on. We are devoted to improving this understanding.
We more than often encounter people bragging about computers, internet and their relative importance but these are often the same people who don't know how to "google." Sad situation you may say but here's SCC to the rescue. We are really enthusiastic on these things and feel that we need to raise awareness. People don't see the real importance of computers and worry about scopes. We raise awareness related to the relative scope of the field with as unbiased a pictureas possible. So what do we do anyways? - You must be anxious. We do workshops (one day ones) with the best people in the , provide tech support to events and host gaming competitions. Gaming is probably the most fun out of all that we do (or did for that matter). Currently, the guys at SCC are developing sites, finding new members to carry the flag of SCC yet again and preparing for workshop.
So, please keep posting and keep on rocking.

Prasanna
